2024 Melton Mowbray

Pet re-sit near Melton Country Park - June 1st to 29th
We travelled from Barton upon Humber by train to Melton Mowbray to pet sit Monty, the yellow lab again.
Mike & Donna kindly picked us up from the station, took us shopping and also cooked us a Sunday roast before they left on Monday morning! It was great to see Monty again !
Monty visited the Park every day and we saw people and pets we had met last year when we pet sat.
Weather was not too good until the end of the third week...quite cloudy, windy and lots of rain!
We then had a heat wave for a few days in 80s...lots of watering to do :)
I plodded around and managed to do between 2 - 3 miles a day :)
Lovely area with three lakes and wildlife around.
We did notice more people walking dogs this year...always seemed to be busy.
They are still building new homes around the area. Unfortunately we did not get to the Olde Pork Pie Shop this year :(
